Responsibilities
- Independently operate multiple pieces of production and packaging equipment.
- Perform equipment changeovers and line setups with minimal supervision.
- Conduct required quality inspections and verify conformance to specifications.
- Troubleshoot routine equipment and process issues.
- Perform approved adjustments and replace designated wear parts.
- Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Accurately complete production, quality, downtime, and inventory documentation.
- Assist in training and onboarding new Machine Operators.
- Ensure safety procedures and operating standards are consistently followed.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, and Production teams to resolve issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Operate powered industrial equipment as required and certified.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum one year of manufacturing, production, packaging, or machine operation experience.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated proficiency operating automated production equipment preferred.
Specific Skills
- Ability to independently operate and monitor production equipment.
- Experience performing product changeovers and line setups.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve routine equipment issues.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to train and support less experienced operators.
- Basic computer proficiency, including production and inventory systems.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see, and use repetitive motions.
- May frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of material, boxes, etc.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision such as reading handwritten and/or typed material and the ability to focus.
