Responsibilities

• Operates a man-up truck
• Operates drive gasoline- or electric-powered trucks to transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas
• Operates lifting devices such as forklifts, lift beams, and swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms to load, unload, transport, and stack material
• Moves pallets, skids, and boxes, and secures material or products for transport to designated areas
• Dumps, sprays, or releases materials into hoppers
• Performs routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment
• Cleaning
• Lubricating
• Recharging batteries
• Fueling
• Replacing liquefied-gas tanks
• Completes daily Vehicle Condition Report
• Manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, cars, or lifting devices
• Operates or tends automatic stacking, loading, packaging, or cutting machines
• Weighs materials or products and records weight and other production data as required
• Operate and follow instructions as directed by an onboard RF unit
• Records quality and output measures and completes any other necessary paperwork
• Attends any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
• Follows all established standard operating procedures
• Performs general housekeeping duties as necessary
• Performs other tasks assigned by management

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalency required
• No prior experience required
• Reads and writes in standard English and proficient in performing basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction
• Successful completion of all required on the job training
• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training
• Prior experience in a warehouse or as a general laborer preferred

Working Conditions

• Frequently required to reach, handle, stand, walk, sit, and stoop
• Occasionally required to kneel
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds frequently throughout a 12 hour shift
• Must be able to work 12 hour shifts either day or night, weekdays or weekends as scheduled
• Work in a normal industrial environment with inherent background noise, dirt, humidity, and temperature variations
• Requires standing more than 2/3 of time
• Requires regular lifting up to 100 pounds
• Requires regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and in precarious places
