Ring Container Technologies seeks a detail-oriented, safety-conscious Production Operator to run downstream equipment, maintain documentation, and support continuous-improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Operate production machinery safely and efficiently to meet or exceed company-established safety culture and OEE targets.
- Follow Lock-Out/Tag-Out, wear required PPE, and address unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately.
- Monitor and explain deviations from expected Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Complete machine-specific training, Operator Checklists, and quality-data collection as directed.
- Correct quality deviations and respond to SPC-chart alerts to keep product within specifications.
- Communicate problems, progress reports, and continuous-improvement ideas to management, maintenance, and production teams.
- Perform maintenance tasks, troubleshoot equipment issues, and execute scheduled preventive maintenance.
- Set and pursue SMART goals, request additional training, and volunteer for plant-improvement teams.
- Ensure daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning tasks are completed per the Master Cleaning Schedule.
- Maintain accurate production documentation and participate in plant teams (safety, quality, sustainability, OEE, maintenance, wellness, etc.).
- Operate Powered Industrial Trucks, Boom Lifts, and Scissor Lifts in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Produce and pack best-quality product, label/tag production, and maintain raw/packaging material traceability.
- Isolate and track non-conforming products and materials.
- Perform quality and downstream testing, record results, and report out-of-specification conditions.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and prerequisite food-safety programs to prevent foreign-material contamination.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area through effective housekeeping, sanitization, and waste management.
- Perform scheduled production-equipment changeovers with minimal OEE impact.
- Manage preventive-maintenance tasks in Computerized Maintenance Management Software, generate work orders, and tag components needing repair or replacement.
- Ensure equipment is clean and in “showroom condition” after maintenance.
- Record parts removed from inventory and notify Maintenance Manager when inventory reaches reorder points.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent; successful completion of entrance examinations and interviews.
- Sense of urgency, accountability, business ethics, professionalism, self-motivation, and focus on business improvement.
- Ability to act as Person In Charge in management’s absence.
- Ability to work promptly and regularly, take direction, collaborate under deadline stress, concentrate, adapt to change, and handle additional tasks.
Physical Demands
- Climbing: Ascend/descend ladders, stairs, and equipment using feet, legs, and/or hands and arms.
- Stooping, crouching, reaching, standing for sustained periods, and walking long distances.
- Pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, 10 pounds constantly).
- Grasping, feeling, fingering, talking, and hearing (perceive sounds at 40 dB or greater at 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz).
- Repetitive motion of arms, hands, and/or fingers.
- Vision capable of detecting small defects at close range and analyzing data.
Work Environment
- Inside and outside conditions, including exposure to extreme heat (temperatures above 100 °F for periods over one hour).
- Noise, vibrations, moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation, and oils.
Pay
Starting pay: $18.95 per hour.
