About the role

The Machine Operator specializes in Floor Care at Velociti. This role involves the operation, maintenance, and performance optimization of floor care equipment to ensure the cleanliness and appearance of floors in various facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
  • Maintain clean work area

  • Take direction and respond to supervision
  • Communicate professionally with the lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers
  • Fill in during staff shortages

  • Understand customer service and satisfaction
  • Understand reporting systems and the environment
  • Instill trust

Key Accountabilities

  • Operate and maintain floor care equipment, including floor scrubbers, polishers, and vacuum cleaners
  • Ensure proper setup, calibration, and adjustment of machines for different floor surfaces
  • Perform routine and specialized cleaning of floors using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment
  • Address stains, spills, and other floor-related issues promptly and effectively
  • Inspect finished floors to ensure cleanliness, shine, and adherence to quality standards
  • Identify and rectify any deficiencies in the cleaning process
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery and handling cleaning agents
  • Conduct regular safety checks on equipment and report any issues promptly
  • Conduct routine maintenance on floor care equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Identify and report any malfunctions or the need for repairs to the maintenance team
  • Monitor and manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment parts
  • Place orders for supplies as needed to maintain operational efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, equipment maintenance, and any incidents
  • Provide reports on machine performance and cleaning outcomes as required

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent education
  • Proven experience as a Floor Care Machine Operator or similar role
  • Familiarity with a variety of floor care equipment and their operation
  • Knowledge of different floor types and appropriate cleaning methods
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results
  • Able to follow safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment
