Job Summary

This job posting is a general listing for three potential Machine Operator positions—Tetrapak, Volpak, or Ixapak—that may be available at the time of your application. Please note that the specific position cannot be guaranteed.

Position Responsibilities

  • Tetra Pak Operation:
    • Operating Tetra Pak machine – mixing of materials and products
    • Loading ingredients into Tetra Pak machine according to Materne’s specifications
    • Using computer interface to monitor equipment
    • Reading schematics and diagrams to monitor machine activity (flow, machine status, temperature settings, level indication)
    • Testing PH levels, viscosity levels, brix levels, flavor additives using quality devices
    • Breaking down machinery with hand tools to clean and sanitize
    • Receiving / inspecting materials and accepting or rejecting based on Materne’s specifications
    • Observing materials to identify contamination or foreign materials
    • Detecting equipment problems and troubleshooting
    • Operating industrial carts and power hand carts
    • Inspecting product as it moves through manufacturing process for quality
    • Completing paperwork and documenting downtime
  • Volpak Operation:
    • Operating high-speed manufacturing equipment through touchscreen/HMI
    • Inspecting product as it moves through manufacturing process for quality
    • Conducting sample testing and recording data
    • Operating industrial carts, power hand carts
    • Performing troubleshooting and basic maintenance of equipment
    • Cleaning work area and sanitizing equipment
    • Completing daily paperwork and reports
  • Ixapak Operation:
    • Operating Ixapak machine in a high speed manufacturing environment
    • Working with computer interface to monitor and start/stop equipment
    • Resetting robotic arm positions after line shut down
    • Loading materials into Ixapak machine
    • Sets machine to increase / decrease number of pouches selected for different size packaging sleeves
    • Understanding mechanical operation to adjust and manipulate Ixapak machine
    • Breaking down machinery with hand tools to clean and sanitize
    • Observing materials to identify contamination or foreign materials
    • Inspecting pouches for uniformity and quality
    • Detecting equipment problems and troubleshooting
    • Documenting tracking sheets for machine efficiency and downtime
    • Operating industrial carts, power hand carts

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for an entire shift (12+ hours)
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Education

  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Technical / Trade School preferred

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience working in the food industry is a plus
