Machine Operator 2

Description

The Machine Operator 2 sets up and operates a variety of Citizen Swiss style lathes to make metal parts to exacting tolerances and dimensions.

• Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications
• Determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup
• Uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments
• Makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds
• Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining
• Fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment
• Determines material, parts, and equipment required
• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required
• A minimum of 3-5 years related work experience and/or training is required
• Experience with CNC Swiss style lathes or CNC Milling is preferred
• Ability to work 1st shift: Monday through Thursday 5:00am to 3:30pm with potential for overtime on Fridays is required
