Machine Operator
Responsibilities
- Leads a team and works safely following all related policies and programs to ensure a safe working environment while accepting feedback from others and giving appropriate recognition to others.
- Responsible for correct reporting of time, production and material usage.
- Set-up of the machine including preparing materials, prints and mounting cylinders.
- Use of computer equipment to enter information relating to the production run including job information, measurements etc.
- Perform quality checks.
- Report irregularities, maintenance needs and quality problems to the team Supervisor and/or Production Manager.
- Aids the machine crew in running, changing over, starting up and cleaning up the machine.
- Checks raw materials on hand against what is needed for each production run to ensure shortages are prevented.
- Using a ruler, verify dimensions on material to ensure a quality product.
- The ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and make recommendations on improving processes.
- Keeps work area clean and orderly.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 2-3 years prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading a small team or group.
- Good human relations skills and strong verbal communication skills are required.
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers to handle, feel and/or reach product.
- Occasional walking, climbing, or balancing and stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
- Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
