About the role

As a Machine Operator in the food service department, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient production operations. Your responsibilities include maintaining, servicing, and performing repairs on production equipment and electrical systems, as well as monitoring equipment performance and providing training to lower-level mechanics and techs.

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Read, interpret, and understand manufacturers' equipment manuals, preventative (PM) task sheets, and safety policies. - Perform equipment adjustments, repairs, preventative maintenance, and emergency breakdowns. - Conduct specific duties during both production and non-production hours, adhering to OSHA Lockout/Tagout and Company safety regulations. - Monitor equipment performance and inform maintenance and production supervisors of potential issues. - Maintain logbooks by applying mathematical skills through the equipment PM stages to calibrate machinery to performance standards. - Provide hands-on training and direction to lower-level mechanics and techs in servicing, repairing, and maintaining equipment. - Keep equipment clean throughout the shift and conduct deep cleaning after the shift (if applicable).

Minimum Education and Experience

- High School diploma or equivalent. - 2-4 years of relevant experience. - Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills. - Ability to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

- Active position requiring movement throughout the plant floor for troubleshooting and system redesign. - Occasional movement of equipment. - Access to files, supplies, and equipment. - Ability to navigate the plant complex and all facilities. - Exposure to wet and moist floors, temperatures ranging from 28°F to 100°F with both ambient and 100% humidity, and noise levels from 50 dB to 110 dB. - Exposure to all chemicals used in poultry, food, and processing facilities. - Must wear and use required protective and safety equipment as directed by the Company.
