About the role

As a Machine Operator in Gardner, MA, you’ll play a key role in producing high-quality paper products by setting up, operating, and monitoring converting equipment in a fast-paced environment focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate paper converting equipment, including sheeters, slitters, and crepe streamer machines
  • Load and unload paper rolls using forklifts, clamp trucks, and overhead hoists
  • Thread materials through machines and adjust settings for optimal performance
  • Monitor production equipment and make adjustments to maintain quality standards
  • Perform routine quality inspections, including measuring roll length, weight, and diameter
  • Maintain adequate supplies, including packaging materials and adhesives
  • Accurately complete production and quality documentation
  • Troubleshoot minor operational issues and report maintenance concerns
  • Assist team members by rotating duties and supporting production needs
  • Identify and report product defects, equipment problems, or safety concerns
  • Maintain a clean work environment that meets safety, quality, and food-safe standards
  • Participate in cross-training, continuous improvement efforts, and team development
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

Requirements

  • Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment is helpful but not required
  • Forklift, clamp truck, or overhead hoist experience is a plus
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently stand, walk, and move throughout the production facility
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Use equipment, tools, and machinery safely
  • Work in a manufacturing environment while maintaining safety and quality standards

Pay

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
