About the role

As a Machine Operator in Gardner, MA, you’ll play a key role in producing high-quality paper products by setting up, operating, and monitoring converting equipment in a fast-paced environment focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate paper converting equipment, including sheeters, slitters, and crepe streamer machines
- Load and unload paper rolls using forklifts, clamp trucks, and overhead hoists
- Thread materials through machines and adjust settings for optimal performance
- Monitor production equipment and make adjustments to maintain quality standards
- Perform routine quality inspections, including measuring roll length, weight, and diameter
- Maintain adequate supplies, including packaging materials and adhesives
- Accurately complete production and quality documentation
- Troubleshoot minor operational issues and report maintenance concerns
- Assist team members by rotating duties and supporting production needs
- Identify and report product defects, equipment problems, or safety concerns
- Maintain a clean work environment that meets safety, quality, and food-safe standards
- Participate in cross-training, continuous improvement efforts, and team development
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
Requirements
- Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment is helpful but not required
- Forklift, clamp truck, or overhead hoist experience is a plus
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, and move throughout the production facility
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Use equipment, tools, and machinery safely
- Work in a manufacturing environment while maintaining safety and quality standards

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
