About the role
Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. The individual selected for this role will rebuild, repair, and install complete machine tools and component assemblies, supporting manufacturing operations as requested.
Responsibilities
- Tear down and assemble machine tools and major subassemblies, including heads, fixtures, spindles, slides, part handling, hydraulic, and mechanical units.
- Perform “schedule B” functions to determine rebuild requirements and specify components and assemblies needed.
- Troubleshoot problems and recommend process or design solutions.
- Set, tram, and align heads, fixtures, and tooling.
- Operate a broad range of tool room equipment to recondition and modify components.
- Provide technical assistance to other departments as required.
- Handle in-plant installation and service.
- Accurately report process time via the Realtrac system.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
- Attend meetings for new launches and projects.
- Assist in delegation and job analysis.
- Address any safety issues plant-wide.
Requirements
- Journeyman’s machine tool builder or equivalent experience (minimum of eight years’ experience), preferably in a rebuild capacity.
- License for forklift operation.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic, electric, and pneumatic control systems.
- Ability to read component and assembly prints.
