About the role
Primary job focus is machine operation, changeover completion (including material handling), and preventative and general maintenance issues.
Responsibilities
- Perform all tasks in a manner which constantly meets or exceeds Standard Performance Levels.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Actively participate in and support the company’s 5S program.
- Operate assigned equipment, machines, and tools to prepare, assemble, and produce products and meet productivity goals.
- Perform all required quality checks and inspections.
- Make necessary minor adjustments to equipment (within parameter settings).
- Perform assigned regular preventative maintenance (PM) and checks on equipment and machines.
- Assist Maintenance Technicians and Tool & Die Technicians in troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
- Assist Technicians in training and guiding new or inexperienced set-up operators.
- Request any necessary parts, equipment, supplies, and tools.
- Maintain tools and work area in a clean and professional manner.
- Maintain proper documentation and record keeping.
- Perform any material handling necessary for assigned equipment or area.
- Escalate abnormal conditions to Team Leader or Group Leader.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Entry to one (1) year of relevant experience.
- Must perform at 100% for the process in the assigned area.
Skills
- Familiarity with company products, terminology, and manufacturing procedures.
- Close attention to detail.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Flexibility in a changing environment.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts if needed.
- Flexibility in shift schedule.
- Must be able to pass MAT testing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Work Environment
- Office: Open office environment with moderate noise level.
- Plant: Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearing protection, etc., may be required in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas. Personal attire standards may apply.
- Travel: 0-5%.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear. The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing and is occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds.
