Essential Functions
- Sums and prepares patients for office visits.
- Aids physicians or PAs with medical office procedures.
- Administers medications, including injections, and documents as required by specialty.
- Adheres to nursing policies and procedures when documenting in the patient's record.
- Attends support staff and department meetings to stay informed of employee issues and organizational updates.
- Maintains confidentiality of clinic materials.
- Provides and reinforces patient instruction and education as needed.
- Accepts responsibility for reading and referencing new policies and procedures.
- Prepares for daily business, maintains charts, prepares new charts, and keeps information current.
- Helps record and obtain results for cultures, lab tests, and radiology results according to office protocol.
- Maintains the integrity of the office.
- Accepts responsibility for reading and referencing new policies and procedures.
- Schedules x-rays, lab tests, processes referrals, and admissions to hospitals.
- Attends staff meetings and training sessions.
- Identifies and evaluates patient needs through telephone triage.
Requirements
- Medical Assistant Specialist II:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing and hold an active Florida state license.
- CPR certification.
- ACLS & PALS certification within first 90 days of employment.
- IV certification within 90 days of employment.
- Clinical Support Specialist:
- High school graduate or equivalent (GED or four years experience may be equivalent).
- Must possess and demonstrate good communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision, exercise judgment and discretion.
- Basic knowledge of Windows-based computer applications.
- Accurate keyboard skills.
- Professional appearance and manner.
- Medical terminology.
