About the Role
This is a full-time position supporting clinical operations in a medical office setting.
Responsibilities
- Summons and prepares patients for office visits.
- Assists Physician or Physician Assistant with medical office procedures.
- Administers medications, including injections, and documents medications given or prescribed by the ordering provider as required by specialty.
- Adheres to nursing policy and procedure when documenting in patient records.
- Attends support staff and department meetings to stay informed of employee issues, concerns, and organizational updates.
- Maintains confidentiality of clinic materials.
- Provides and reinforces patient instruction and education as indicated.
- Prepares for daily business, maintains charts, prepares new charts, and keeps information current.
- Records and obtains results for cultures, lab tests, and radiology results per office protocol.
- Maintains the integrity of the office.
- Schedules x-rays, lab tests, processes referrals, and handles admissions to the hospital.
- Attends staff meetings and training sessions.
- Identifies and evaluates patient needs through telephone triage.
- Accepts responsibility for reading and referencing new policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing and hold an active Florida state license.
- CPR certification.
- ACLS & PALS required within the first 90 days of employment.
- IV certification required within 90 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience in ER, critical care, urgent care, or a hospital setting.
