MA Meridian Health Plaza Family Medicine Clinic Full-Time Days

About the Role

The Meridian Health Plaza (MHP) Family Medicine Clinic is looking for a personable and hard-working Medical Assistant. This position will work with a busy Family Medicine PA and also float within the clinic, supporting other MAs and providers in a collaborative environment.

Our family medicine providers address diagnosed health concerns early, manage existing conditions, and support physical, mental, and social health across all ages and stages of life.

Responsibilities

• Support a busy PA and cover MA PTO, call-outs, in-basket tasks, and float to other providers as needed
• Perform primary MA duties, including administering immunizations and assisting with child well visits
• Assist with minor procedures, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, urinalysis, and ear lavages
• Complete tasks and orders in the inbox
• Provide excellent patient care with strong customer service and follow-through

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required at hire)
• MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following approved agencies:
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
  • American Medical Technologists (RMA)
  • National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
  • National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
  • American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
  • National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)
• New Graduates:
  • MA certificate of completion from an accredited program or school
  • Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months of MA experience (in lieu of externship hours, even with MA certification)
• Experienced Medical Assistants:
  • 1 year of MA experience OR current MA certification OR obtain/renew certification within 90 days of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network) required at hire
• EMT and CNA certifications do not qualify for MA certification

CNA-only work experience does not qualify applicants for this MA position.

Ideal Candidate

• Previous MA experience in family medicine or internal medicine
• Enjoys working with older adult patients
• Strong customer service, follow-through, and critical thinking skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities

Schedule

• 40 hours per week, 5 days (8-hour shifts), Monday–Friday
• Hours between 7:00 AM–6:00 PM (start and end times may vary based on provider schedules and clinic needs)
