The Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C) position at UW Medical Center-Montlake - Heart Institute offers a dynamic opportunity to support the clinic's clinical team. Located conveniently near public transportation, this role plays a crucial role in patient care and service.
Responsibilities
- Room patients, taking vital signs and reconciling records
- Prepare and clean exam rooms
- Submit medication prior authorizations
- Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to provider
- Act as a liaison between patient, patient’s family and providers
- Assist provider with procedures and medical exams
- Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values
- Auxiliary transport of patients as required
Requirements
- Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES or equivalent
- Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or must achieve this designation within 6 months of hire
- Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card
Qualifications
- Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures

Pay
Pay Range: Minimum $28.27 hourly, Maximum $40.44 hourly.
