Purpose of Position
Aids Cardiac Services Tech with inpatient and outpatient cardiac nuclear stress tests.
Responsibilities
- Prepares patient for stress test
- Abstracts stress test results (nuclear and regular)
- Provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers
- Aids Nuclear Technologist and Cardiac Services Tech with patient flow
- Makes minor room cleanups before and after testing
- Sets up patient for stress test, attaching EKG leads and recording blood pressure during the test
- Performs blood pressures and oxygen saturations, observes patient's condition, and monitors for positive tests or complications
- Aids technologists in transferring patients on and off exam tables and/or treadmills
- Orders and stocks supplies for the outpatient Cardiology Department
- Prepares patients for cardiology tests
- Performs 12 lead EKG’s
- Enters patient information into Muse when working in the inpatient Cardiology area
- Analyzes 24/48-hour Holter monitors and operates Holter monitor analysis system when working in the inpatient Cardiology area
- Responds to cardiac arrests and rapid responses within the department when working in the inpatient cardiology area
- Wears personal dosimeter badge to monitor radiation exposure
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to use and learn basic level computer systems and print reports
- Good communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
- BLS required
- Completion of Basic Arrhythmia course within 6 months in position
- EKG course or certification required

Pay
Hiring Pay Range: $18.65 - $32.22/hr
