LVN - Substance Use Treatment Center, Part Time 12 Hour Day Shifts

Part-time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) position at our detox and residential facility. Shifts are 12 hours (11:00 AM – 11:30 PM) on Wednesday and Friday, with additional shifts available as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assists with client self-administration of medication and records/monitors vital signs.
• Conducts initial intake assessments and evaluations, including detox protocols.
• Ensures accurate documentation of medication and lab orders.
• Observes and reports changes in client conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and takes necessary action.
• Manages and organizes the medication room, including supply inventory and equipment compliance.
• Evaluates medical concerns and directs clients to emergency medical care when required.
• Works with the treatment team and physicians to assess client needs, plan and modify care, and implement interventions.
• Reviews medication logs, conducts medication counts, and requests refills as needed.
• Provides support, monitoring, and supervision of clients to assist non-clinical staff.
• Performs breathalyzer analysis and monitors urine test samples from clients.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• LVN licensure required; valid license/certificate of registration issued by the California Board of Nursing Education and Nurse Registration.
• Experience working in a detox/substance use facility preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a team player.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and personal automobile insurance.

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Hiring contingent upon completion of a TB test, clearance on a drug screen, and pre-employment physical.
• Clean driving record and current first aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
