About the role

We are seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to join our team at Ballard Rehab Hospital, a 60-bed rehabilitation facility in San Bernardino, CA. We provide rehabilitative services to patients recovering from disabilities caused by injuries or illnesses, helping them regain physical or cognitive abilities to return home at their highest level of independence. As a smaller, specialized hospital, you’ll work in a fast-paced, friendly environment where you get to know your patients and their families.

Participants in the Clinical Career Ladder are eligible for pay increases after successful completion of the Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced levels.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical functions on the unit, incorporating the nursing process in accordance with the applicable Nurse Practice Act.
  • Ensure the unit functions smoothly, organized, and efficiently as directed by the Registered Nurse.
  • Provide direct patient care, including delegation and supervision of nursing care.
  • Demonstrate clinical competence, manage patient care, and improve quality of care.
  • Establish professional relationships and utilize professional skills.
  • Fulfill responsibilities of the hospital role and develop clinical expertise per specialty.

Requirements

  • Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse in the state of employment.
  • Current BLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor.
  • IV Certification required.

Qualifications

  • One (1) year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Three (3) years of medical/surgical experience preferred.
  • One (1) year of area-specific experience preferred.
  • Ability to project a professional image.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
  • Freedom from illegal use of and effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
