LVN Lead: Cancer Urgent Care

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
  • Participates in maintaining a safe patient care environment.
  • Aid in the care and maintenance of department equipment.
  • Complete and accurate charting of patient records.
  • Complete and accurate record keeping of equipment and quality measures.
  • Aid in direct and indirect patient care as assigned by department.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of care across the continuum, providing timely, safe and quality care.
  • Ensure a safe, HIPAA compliant environment for the patient and the staff.
  • Demonstrate competence and sensitivity in caring for multicultural patients/families by adapting the plan of care based on cultural needs identified.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement process.
  • Perform phlebotomy if applicable to department.
  • Organize and assign duties to clinical team members.
  • Maintain daily performance of the clinical team members to ensure duties are completed accurately, efficiently and timely.
  • Assist with new hire interviews and conduct and document Department Orientation of new employees within required timeframe.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of experience as an LVN.
  • Strong keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Oversee Champions within the clinic.
  • Completion of educational courses before moving into an LVN Lead role: New Hire LVN course – Primary Care or Urgent Care, LVN II course, LVN III course, Lead LVN course.
  • Current LVN License to practice in the State of California.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Phlebotomy Certification (preferred).
