About the role

The Lumber Director of Operations plays a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of multiple PARR locations. This position requires a proven track record as a manager, with a focus on leadership, communication, and people development.

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe and positive work environment
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and equipment maintenance
  • Work with General Managers to complete fleet reports

  • Coach and delegate financial reporting

  • Seek out and identify processes for positive change
  • Share knowledge and experience with the team
  • Manage direct reports: General Managers

Qualifications

  • Proven track record as a Manager
  • 2 years of prior supervisory or management experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English
  • Knowledge and proficiency with management principles, practices, and protocols
  • Understanding of lumber industry market conditions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Class C driver’s license
  • Shoes that are puncture resistant, slip resistant, and made of leather or composite material

  • Work cordially, professionally, and with a high level of customer service
  • Identify and improve processes to enhance the workplace and outcomes for customers
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management and employees
  • Manage stress and interact with others professionally

Physical Requirements

  • Sit and/or stand for extended periods
  • Work indoors in a normal office environment
  • Grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard
  • Lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Drive a vehicle when necessary
