Committments
- Rotates between Norwalk and Stamford
- Monday: 8am-4:30pm
- Tuesday: 1pm-4:30pm
- Wednesday: 8am-4:30pm
- Thursday: 8:30am-12pm
- Friday: 8am-3pm
Major Accountabilities / Critical Responsibilities
- Reviews schedules and organizes patient flow
- Greet patients, document concerns, accompany to exam/procedure room, prepare for physical exam
- Initial patient interview, review medical profile, document charting in EMR/manual charting
- Absolutely obtain and document vital signs, report any abnormalities to physician
- Assists with specimen collection and testing, document pertinent information
- Assist patients with mobility, dressing, etc.
- Provide minor treatment, assist with minor procedures, provide education based on patient/family learning needs
- Schedule patient testing, pre-certify if insurance requires
- Respond to telephone messages
- End of month checks for expired supplies, stocks rooms, maintains inventory, orders supplies, cleans exam/procedure rooms, prepares for next patient and physician needs
- Notify patients of test results, follow up as instructed by physician
- Attend staff meetings, in-service education opportunities, participate in continuing education programs
- Formulate and maintain effective working relationships with employees and other managers
- Respect and protect patient confidentiality and privacy, disclose information only for professional purposes in the patient's best interest
- Display a positive attitude when interacting with physician's office staff, physicians, and fellow employees
Qualifications/Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Valid license as Licensed Practical Nurse in CT
- BLS Certification
- Excellent customer service / communication skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar position preferred
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language
