LPN - Orthopedic (Inpatient)

About the Role

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a fast-paced, 41-bed NT4 Ortho-Urology Surgical Unit. This role involves working alongside RNs, assisting with patient care based on acuity, and supporting recovery in a collaborative team environment. Our team emphasizes safe, compassionate care, with resources including educators, nurse supervisors, and management to support ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and hang IV fluids
• Chart assessments and care plans
• Communicate with physicians
• Perform dressing and trach care
• Manage NG tubes and ostomies
• Provide patient education and discharge instructions

Requirements

• Valid Illinois LPN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• College diploma in practical nursing

Skills

• Proficiency with wound vacs, drains, and traction devices
• Experience with orthotic equipment, telemetry, and patient connection tools
