About the role
The Thief River Falls Internal Medicine Clinic has an opening for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). Schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm with two late-night shifts per month and an occasional Saturday morning to support the walk-in clinic. Responsibilities
- Participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of patients.
- Educate and communicate with patients and their families.
- Function within the administration pre-defined scope of practice guidelines per state location of practice.
Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing program leading to licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or a recognized Medical Assistant program.
- Associate's degree in practical nursing is preferred for LPNs.
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have a minimum of 400 hours of experience as an RN (or LPN) at another facility.
- If IV therapy is required, must have completed a board-approved educational program that included intravenous therapy in the curriculum or a course in intravenous therapy developed according to board guidelines.
- Current licensure as a practical nurse in the state(s) of practice for LPNs.
- Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA) for CMAs. Certification may be obtained through programs such as AAMA, NHA, AMCA, NCCT, or AMT.
- Additional state requirements:
- North Dakota (ND): Registration as an MAIII through the ND Board of Nursing. If not held at time of hire, must obtain within 4 months. All medication administration prior to obtaining MAIII must be supervised by a licensed nurse. Must also be registered on the ND Board of Nursing UAP Registry if MAIII registration is not held at time of hire.
- Minnesota (MN), Iowa (IA), South Dakota (SD), and Oregon (OR): No state registration required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment.

Pay
Salary Range: $21.25 - $31.94 per hour
Schedule
