What You’ll Do

  • Nursing & Resident Care
    • Provide direct nursing care and respond promptly to resident needs.
    • Maintain physical and emotional well-being of residents.
    • Perform skilled nursing tasks like medication administration, wound care, tube feedings, catheterization, respiratory treatments, and other prescribed treatments.
    • Collaborate with DSPs, supervisors, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team.
    • Communicate with physicians as needed and report changes in residents' conditions.
  • Medication Administration
    • Prepare and administer medications accurately and safely.
    • Verify resident identity before medication or treatment administration.
    • Monitor medication supplies and report needs or discrepancies promptly.
    • Maintain accurate narcotic counts and medication records.
    • Report medication errors or concerns immediately to nursing leadership.
  • Documentation & Compliance
    • Maintain clear, timely, and accurate nursing documentation.
    • Transcribe physician orders and update medication records and care plans.
    • Ensure charts reflect care provided and resident response.
    • Follow all safety, confidentiality, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Active Louisiana LPN license (required).
  • Experience in residential or long-term care preferred; new graduates are welcome.
  • Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills.
  • Compassion, patience, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
  • A genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities in a residential setting.
