What You’ll Do
- Nursing & Resident Care
- Provide direct nursing care and respond promptly to resident needs.
- Maintain physical and emotional well-being of residents.
- Perform skilled nursing tasks like medication administration, wound care, tube feedings, catheterization, respiratory treatments, and other prescribed treatments.
- Collaborate with DSPs, supervisors, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Communicate with physicians as needed and report changes in residents' conditions.
- Medication Administration
- Prepare and administer medications accurately and safely.
- Verify resident identity before medication or treatment administration.
- Monitor medication supplies and report needs or discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accurate narcotic counts and medication records.
- Report medication errors or concerns immediately to nursing leadership.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain clear, timely, and accurate nursing documentation.
- Transcribe physician orders and update medication records and care plans.
- Ensure charts reflect care provided and resident response.
- Follow all safety, confidentiality, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Active Louisiana LPN license (required).
- Experience in residential or long-term care preferred; new graduates are welcome.
- Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills.
- Compassion, patience, and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
- A genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities in a residential setting.
