LPN - Inpatient Orthopedics

Position Overview We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a fast-paced surgical unit specializing in ortho and urology patients. The unit has 41 beds and primarily cares for acute surgical and trauma patients, including those undergoing hip and knee replacements, limb trauma, and low acuity medical cases. The team collaborates closely with physical and occupational therapists to ensure safe, efficient recovery within an average stay of three days. Responsibilities Include Administering medications, including IV piggybacks and fluidsCharting assessments and updating care plans in collaboration with RNsCommunicating with physicians and healthcare providers to coordinate patient carePerforming wound care, dressing changes, trach care, NG tube management, ostomy care, and patient educationAssisting with procedures such as IV insertions and central line care Qualifications & Skills Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification in IllinoisBasic Life Support (BLS) certificationExperience in surgical or acute care preferredProficiency in nursing skills such as wound management, IV therapy, and patient assessmentsStrong communication and teamwork abilities
