LPN - Inpatient Orthopedics

This role is for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) on a fast-paced NT4 Ortho-Urology Surgical Unit with 41 beds, specializing in acute orthopedic and urology surgeries, including trauma cases. Key responsibilities include administering medications (excluding IV push), charting assessments and care plans, coordinating with physicians, performing dressing and trach care, managing NG tubes and ostomies, and reinforcing patient education and discharge instructions. The LPN collaborates with RNs and UNLs, supporting patient care across various acuity levels, often working with advanced equipment such as wound vacs, chest tubes, and telemetry monitors. Qualifications include an Illinois LPN license, BLS certification, and a college diploma. The role demands strong communication, clinical skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
