About the role

LPN’s on 4 Main Med-Surg Telemetry Unit at UK Good Samaritan Hospital provide for medical surgical patients and adults requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. Patient conditions include a wide range of medical conditions and recovery from surgical procedures which may or may not require telemetry monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, continuous and patient centered care which includes: on-going assessments, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care;
• Deliver direct patient care;
• Ensure patient satisfaction;
• Delegate duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistant);
• Adhere to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations.

Requirements

• Required Education: LPN
• Required Experience: 0 years
• License/Registration/Certification: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Kentucky Licensure
• Physical Requirements: Requires handling of average weights or objects up to 25 pounds with some sitting, standing, or walking.
• Shift: Must be able to work three, 12-hour shifts per week from 7pm until 7:30am; will also be required to work some weekend and holidays.
