About the role
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) in the 3 Medicine Acute care area at UK Chandler Hospital provide care to adult patients with a wide range of medical/surgical conditions. The 3 Medicine Acute care area provides acute, comprehensive inpatient care for patients suffering from a variety of medical diseases and surgical complications. Patient conditions include diabetes, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, wound care, and surgical cases (both pre and post-operation).
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat multiple medical and surgical disease complications.
- Perform duties for which they are trained such as starting IVs, simple wound dressings, and notifying the RN or LIP with any changes or abnormalities in the patient's condition.
Requirements
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Kentucky Licensure
- Requires handling of average weights or objects up to 25 pounds with some sitting, standing, or walking.
- Must be able to work three, 12-hour DAY shifts from 7AM until 7:30PM; will also be required to work some weekend and holidays.
