About the role
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care to residents of all ages in an assisted living setting, under the supervision of registered nurses, advanced practice providers, or physicians. The LPN demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles, practices within the full scope of nursing expertise, and applies age- and population‑specific standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform assessments, administer medications and treatments, and evaluate resident status through testing.
- Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergent situations to ensure resident safety, comfort, and health.
- Document interactions, care outcomes, and maintain confidentiality while establishing effective relationships with residents, families, and healthcare team members.
- Communicate clearly and provide resident education on prevention and self‑care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Current licensure as an LPN in the practice state(s).
- Preferred experience in long‑term, sub‑acute, or medical/surgical care.
