Wentworth Health Partners (WHP), an affiliate of Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and member of Mass General Brigham Medical Group, offers Endocrinology and Diabetes Care at our state-of-the-art facility at 10 Members Way in Dover, NH. This practice provides care for patients with endocrine conditions, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, and a broad spectrum of other hormonal disorders. Our expert team of clinical and administrative professionals focus on specialized diagnostics and treatment, including advanced patient education programs to assist individuals looking to improve their health and enjoy a better quality of life.

We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour LPN to support our Dover practice located at 10 Members Way in Dover, NH. Under the supervision of a Nurse Manager, licensed clinical leader, or non-clinical practice manager—and in collaboration with other team members—provides direct and indirect patient care in accordance with the scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients about current problems, medications, and allergies, and reviews medical records for pertinent previous and current information.
• Measures and records patients' vital signs, including height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
• Performs additional screening exams as needed, such as hearing, vision, depression, and falls assessments.
• Provides basic patient care and treatments, such as dressing wounds, treating bedsores, administering enemas or douches, applying alcohol rubs, massaging, performing catheterizations, administering routine immunizations, and/or providing nebulizer treatments and visual acuity tests.
• Participates in patient treatment regimen, including administering medications under the supervision of a physician and registered nurse.
• Communicates post-visit findings and participates in the plan of care, in coordination with the appropriate clinical staff.
• Performs a variety of office responsibilities: answers phones, takes messages, and performs triage within the scope of licensed practical nursing practice in an accurate and timely manner.
• Collects samples, such as blood, urine, or sputum from patients, and performs routine laboratory tests on samples.
• Prepares patients for examinations, tests, or treatments and explains procedures.
• Assists patients with bathing, dressing, maintaining personal hygiene, transferring in bed, and standing and walking.

Requirements

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) diploma or certification required.
• Current LPN state license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• 0-1 year of medical experience preferred.

Skills

• Basic knowledge of patient education: interviewing and listening skills, teaching and engagement techniques, and understanding of health-related conditions and information.
• Ability to accurately perform vital signs and obtain pertinent health information, including temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, height, and weight.
• Ability to administer medication via injections, intravenous, and oral routes.
• Knowledge and ability to perform specific procedures and tests as appropriate to the clinical setting.
• Ability to communicate in a professional, courteous, clear, and concise manner.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Scheduled weekly hours: 40.

Pay

Pay range: $31.50 – $43.64 per hour (Grade 5).
