Responsibilities
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders and ensure accurate, timely documentation.
- Cookout medication orders and maintain effective communication with the pharmacy regarding required medications.
- Monitor individuals for adverse reactions or side effects related to medications and report concerns as appropriate.
- Document the effectiveness of PRN medications, including the behavior or symptoms that led to administration and the individual’s response.
- Adhere to facility policies for the tracking, handling, and accountability of all medications.
- Dispose of medications in accordance with established policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure all medication-related information is accurately documented on the discharge summary.
- Reconcile home medications with the individual and communicate with the individual’s pharmacy as needed to verify accurate medication histories and prescriptions.
- Obtain appropriate authorization (ROI or verbal consent) prior to communication.
- Maintain the medication cart, ensuring it is free of expired or unlabeled medications.
- Keep the medication room clean, organized, and compliant with facility standards.
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- A High School Diploma/GED equivalent
- Valid Georgia LPN Licensure
- Valid Georgia Driver’s License
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse communities
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Office Products
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position (which include but are not limited to moving/transporting patients, furniture, driving vehicles, etc.)
Qualifications
Final pay rate will be dependent on a combination of qualifications such as experience and education.
