We offer a comprehensive, individualized program that includes medical care, psychological support, and discharge planning.
Medical Care Functions
- Welcome residents and orient them to the environment.
- Provide information and instruction to residents and their families regarding resident rights.
- Evaluate, observe, collect data, and conduct physical examinations.
- Record physical findings and formulate plans and prognoses based on residents' conditions.
- Report findings to the attending physician and order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests.
- Provide therapeutic services and coordinate care plans with the Care Planning Team.
- Identify and manage minor illnesses and provide treatment for uncomplicated conditions.
- Monitor and adjust medical regimens for chronically ill residents and refer them as needed.
- Provide emergency and routine physical and psychological nursing care.
- Coordinate admissions and discharges as necessary and assist in resident rehabilitation activities.
Qualifications
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Arizona.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must be able to make independent decisions when necessary.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Must possess leadership and supervisory skills and be willing to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
- Must be able to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary for providing quality care.
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
- Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
- Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
