About the role
The LPN provides direct nursing care to residents and supervises the daily nursing activities of nursing assistants.
Responsibilities
- Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants.
- Meet with assigned nursing staff and support personnel to plan shift services, programs, and activities.
- Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of the shift as required.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
- Provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to the unit/shift.
- Complete and file required recordkeeping forms/charts upon the resident's admission, transfer, and/or discharge.
- Receive and transcribe telephone orders from physicians and record on the Physician's Order Form.
- Chart nurse's notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident.
- Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse with current unencumbered state licensure.
- CPR Certification is required.
- Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.
- Must be able to work 12 hours a shift.
