Duties and Responsibilities

• Adheres to agency policies and procedures regarding confidentiality
• Participates in quality improvement activities
• Communicates effectively with patients and staff
• Maintains a professional manner in interacting with patients and staff
• Adheres to infection control principles
• Participates in and contributes to Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance activities
• Maintains clean, safe, orderly work environment
• Performs supportive duties to maintain efficient patient flow
• Prepares patients for examinations and procedures
• Prepares rooms for examinations and procedures
• Auxiliaries providers with examinations and procedures
• Performs routine diagnostic tests
• Collections and processes specimens
• Prepares and administers medications as directed by the health care provider
• Reviews lab results and reports abnormal findings to the provider
• Maintains equipment according to agency policy
• Maintains the integrity of the medical record
• Maintains documentation in logs as appropriate
• Provides patient education
• Administer immunizations for adults and children
• Recognizes emergency situations and notifies appropriate personnel

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program
• Licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of New York
• Three years experience in a health care setting
• Computer literacy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program
• Licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of New York
• Five years experience in an ambulatory health care setting
• Computer literacy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
