About the role
This position ensures quality care is delivered through monitoring staff performance, physician contact, care planning, and daily resident observation. It also provides direct care to residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist routine daily direction and monitor the work of nursing assistants on the unit, ensuring a high standard of nursing care and satisfactory completion of tasks.
- Communicate regularly with the Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing regarding observations, problem areas, resident and employee activities, concerns, needs, conditions, etc.
- Document any changes in patient’s conditions, including nutritional problems, infections, skin conditions, weight loss, or any other noticeable changes.
- Notify applicable departments of any patient’s room changes, LOA, new admits, or discharges.
- Assist in the admission, orientation, and observation of new residents, ensuring that physician orders for diets, therapy, medication, etc., are transcribed and communicated according to procedure.
Requirements
- Currently licensed as an LPN in Colorado.
- Prior experience in a nursing community.
- The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- The desire to care for residents and act with integrity.
- The ability to work flexible hours.
