Job Description

Aid physicians and RNs in patient care. Key tasks include safely administering chemotherapy, disposing of biohazardous waste, collecting lab samples, and performing technical laboratory procedures.

• Mix and administer chemotherapeutic agents as directed by AON physicians.
• Accurately dispose of biohazardous waste according to OSHA and HRS guidelines.
• Obtain lab samples and perform technical laboratory procedures.
• Send specimens to appropriate facilities and maintain logs.
• Perform port access procedures and administer shots.
• Document treatments in OncoEMR and prepare superbills.
• Educate patients and families about medications and treatment plans.
• Triage telephone inquiries and assist with inventory management.
• Attend safety and OSHA training meetings and assist in training new employees.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications

Required:

• Current state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse with IV therapy experience.
• Approved 30-hour IV certification course completed within 90 days of employment.
• CPR and BLS certification.
• Fluency in English with excellent communication skills.
• Valid driver's license for travel.

• Experience in clinic or hospital settings.
• Knowledge of Nucleus medication dispensing system.
