About the role

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is a private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system serving a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. We provide advanced care through a 772-bed acute care hospital and specialized units like the Level II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care collaboratively with the RN.
• Displays respect for patients' rights, dignity, values, confidentiality, and expressed needs.
• Adapts to evidence-based practice and information technologies, focusing on comfort, pain relief, and anxiety reduction.
• Performs tasks in compliance with department and policy/procedure guidelines, and within educational preparation and the Florida Nurse Practice Act.
• Reports to a Nurse Manager and supervises none.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to five years of job-related experience preferred.
• Licensed as a practical nurse in accordance with Florida Statutes (FS), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nurse Practice Act).
• Florida LPN IV therapy certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from an accredited instructor from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Specialized life support requirements designated by work area.
