About the role
The 4200 Complex Cardiovascular Unit at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital serves a diverse patient population, including those recovering from open-heart surgeries, amputations, lung operations, heart attacks, and other critical medical concerns.
Responsibilities
- Collect, document, and report patient data and observations.
- Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.
- Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.
- Perform routine laboratory tests.
- Educate patients and family members.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.
- Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
Qualifications
- One year of patient care experience preferred.
Skills
- Physical Requirements: Full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Benefits
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay
- Pay Range Minimum hourly: $23.25
- Pay Range Maximum hourly: $33.50
Schedule
- Nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
- Every other weekend.
- 3 holidays per year.
