LPN – Acute Care Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery

About the role

The 4200 Complex Cardiovascular Unit at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital serves a diverse patient population, including those recovering from open-heart surgeries, amputations, lung operations, heart attacks, and other critical medical concerns.

Responsibilities

• Collect, document, and report patient data and observations.
• Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.
• Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.
• Perform routine laboratory tests.
• Educate patients and family members.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.
• Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.

Qualifications

• One year of patient care experience preferred.

Skills

• Physical Requirements: Full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination.
• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Benefits

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay

• Pay Range Minimum hourly: $23.25
• Pay Range Maximum hourly: $33.50

Schedule

• Nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
• Every other weekend.
• 3 holidays per year.
