Responsibilities
- Serve as the building substitute teacher and provide coverage for a variety of classrooms, as needed, for short and long-term leaves.
- Deliver lessons prepared by Carroll School faculty, organize the classroom environment, and maintain classroom routines that support student learning.
- For long-term leaves: plan, prepare, and deliver lessons, which may include serving as the Homeroom teacher/Advisor for 8-9 students.
- Act as primary liaison between the school and the families of assigned students.
- Monitor and support students’ academic progress, social-emotional development, and overall well-being.
- Develop positive working relationships with all constituencies: students, parents, colleagues, and administration.
- Work in the extended day program for the first three years (fall, winter or spring).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Masters Degree preferred
- Associate Level Orton-Gillingham training course with practicum preferred
- Must be enthusiastic, energetic, and enjoy working with children
- Willingness to train in highly specialized approaches to teaching students with language-based learning differences
- Ability to be flexible, timely, and professional
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Google Docs and Google Classroom is helpful but not required
Pay
Exact salary offered is dependent on educational credentials and years of experience. 1-10 years: $60,100-$80,441
11-25 years: $79,208-$102,157
