About the role
The Lower School Assistant Teacher position is open for the 2026-27 school year. This role works closely with lead class teachers and a team of experienced colleagues to provide a caring and warm Waldorf experience for students in the first through third grades.
Responsibilities
- Work with the lead class teacher and a team of colleagues to support the educational program for the first through third grades.
- Support students with diverse learning needs.
- Work with the whole class, small groups, and individual students.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to ensure a joyful and supportive environment for students.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in early childhood and/or grades school settings.
- Certification or other educational credentials preferred.
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs is a plus.
Qualifications
- Experienced in working with children in early childhood and/or grades school settings.
- Creative and enthusiastic personality.
- Desire to serve the learning needs of elementary aged children.
- Dependable, flexible, and able to collaborate joyfully with the lead teacher.
Skills
- Ability to work effectively with a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to different teaching situations.

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Scheduling follows the school calendar. Part-time positions with differing work week schedules are available.
