About the role

The Hudson School is seeking an assistant teacher to join our Lower School team. This position begins in the 2026-27 academic year and is full-time and in-person.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of students
  • Record-keeping and documentation
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support the school's mission
  • Evaluate and grow professionally

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
  • A deep interest in children and ability to connect with them
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Able to collaborate with others in an open way
  • Able to work both indoors and outdoors
  • Able to bend or kneel to facilitate communication with young children, climb multiple flights of stairs while supervising children, and maintain a high level of activity while supervising children
  • Treat all members of The Hudson School community with respect and civility
