Lower School Assistant Teacher

About the role

Latin School of Chicago is seeking Assistant Teachers for grades Junior Kindergarten through Fourth grade for the 2026-2027 school year. The Assistant Teacher program goals are to provide each Assistant Teacher with an authentic teaching and learning experience under the supervision of lead teachers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in the daily operation and management of the classroom
• Help promote and maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment for students
• Build and nurture positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families
• In collaboration with the lead teacher, and depending on your interests and skills, you may also have opportunities to:
• Auxiliary in planning, developing, and implementing classroom curriculum
• Support instruction and facilitate student learning as directed by the lead teacher
• Help with grading, student assessment, and maintaining accurate documentation under the guidance of the lead teacher

Pay

The starting salary for this full-time position is $31,409 with additional stipends available.
