Low Voltage Rough and Trim Field Technician

About the role

We are looking for a self-motivated, driven Field Technician to focus on residential new construction. You will run low voltage wiring during the rough stage and trim homes near completion, including installing ceiling and wall speakers for home theater and audio needs. You’ll collaborate with our operations manager, builder project managers, and outside sales team to ensure high-level professional care for our customers.

The successful candidate will have an immediate impact on the experience of Symspire's home builders, so strong customer service, quality judgment, and results delivery are essential. A curious mind and desire to learn new technology are key, as the role involves a variety of ever-changing smart products.

Responsibilities

• Run low voltage wire such as data, cable, security, and A/V cables
• Install network panels, data & cable outlets, and run flex conduit
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Valid Driver’s License (Required)
• Must pass regular background checks and MVR checks (Required)
• Pre-Employment Drug Screening
• Ability to maintain high productivity and accuracy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive attitude
• Ability to work independently and complete assignments within company standards
• Must keep a clean and organized work van and maintain daily inventory control

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Frequent use of step ladders and extension ladders
• Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting up to 100 pounds
• Crawling in attics or crawl spaces
• Driving a truck or van
• Regularly required to drive, walk, stand, reach with hands and arms, stoop, use hands for fine movements, kneel, talk, and hear
• Active construction site work with moderate noise from drills, hammers, construction equipment, alarms, and other related sounds
• Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, humidity, and dust

Schedule

Full-Time. Work location: Brentwood, Tennessee and surrounding areas (rare occasional work in East Tennessee).
