About the role
The Minnesota State Lottery is seeking a highly motivated and well-organized individual with strong interpersonal skills to join our team as Lottery Sales Representatives. This position works directly with approximately 115 retailers that sell Lottery products.
Responsibilities
- Identify potential new businesses to recruit as retailers within the designated territory.
- Deliver sales presentations to business owners and managers.
- Identify opportunities to boost sales through training, promotions, and marketing recommendations.
- Engage with the public at events to promote Lottery products.
Requirements
- Two years of professional sales experience that includes territory management, product merchandising, and promotional experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Valid Class D Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling a major consumer product.
- (e.g., Frito Lay, Nabisco, Pepsi, Philip Morris)
- Experience in gaming or entertainment industries.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Presentation and/or public speaking experience.
- Bi-lingual speaking.
Physical Requirements
- Occasionally lift articles up to 25-30 pounds.
- Frequently lift and/or carry objects such as promotional materials and dispenser cases.
- Walk or stand to a significant degree or sit for extended periods of time.
Additional Requirements
- Successful completion of the following background checks: Criminal Background Check, Fingerprint Check, Employment Reference Checks, SEMA4 Records Check, and Driver's License Records Verification.
