About the role
Responsible for stores in Collier/Lee counties. This position involves responding to emergencies, investigating internal theft, violence, or criminal acts, and ensuring the safety and security of customers and associates.
Responsibilities
- Respond to emergencies and investigate reports of known or suspected internal theft, violence, or other criminal acts involving associates.
- Schedule and conduct Shrink and Safety Assessments to evaluate compliance with operational controls related to shrink and safety performance in key stores.
- Evaluate financial reports to identify improvement opportunities for shrink reduction, workers’ compensation, general liability, cash losses, and vendor credits.
- Monitor and respond to local issues or activities that may impact the safety/security of customers or associates or create business risks.
- Identify stores requiring risk assessments and oversee the installation and use of security-related equipment.
- Investigate incidents committed by non-associates that may create actual or potential losses.
- Manage and oversee contract security services and perform administrative duties related to the Loss Prevention process.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- Five (5) years of retail loss prevention and safety experience, including:
- Two (2) years of multi-store loss prevention experience.
- Two (2) years of management experience (not necessarily direct reports).
- OR Five (5) years of Publix retail management experience.
- Knowledge of the retail environment and its operations.
- Knowledge of retail loss prevention processes, procedures, and programs.
- Knowledge of general safety practices, procedures, and policies in a retail environment.
- Working knowledge of the criminal justice system and investigation processes.
- Knowledge of methods used to analyze and interpret large quantities of data.
- Knowledge of retail accounting methods.
- Knowledge of physical inventory processes, calculations, and controls, particularly related to shrinkage.
- Knowledge of interviewing, investigative, and interpersonal techniques.
- Knowledge of physical security practices, including CCTV, alarm systems, EAS, and other technologies.
- Technical knowledge of retail processes and loss prevention programs and strategies.
- Computer, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Analytical, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and strong interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends, overnight travel with little notice, and being on call at all times.
Preferred Qualifications
- Eight (8) years of retail loss prevention experience, including:
- Five (5) years of multi-store loss prevention experience.
- Five (5) years of management of direct reports.
- Certification in Wicklander-Zulawski Interviewing Techniques.
- LPC Certification.
- OSHA 10 Hour Course.
