Loss Prevention Specialist

About the role

As a Security and Loss Prevention (SLP) Specialist, you will deliver security as a service to Amazon’s operational sites across the end-to-end supply chain to protect people, prevent loss, and ensure business continuity. This role supports the resilience of operations by contributing to emergency and crisis planning, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.

You will serve as the point of contact for security-related matters, coordinating risk management with local management, external parties (e.g., law enforcement, industry associations), and internal stakeholders. Your work ensures compliance with Amazon’s global security standards and maintains the physical integrity of assigned sites.

Responsibilities

• Support business resilience by contributing to emergency and crisis planning for sites within your area of responsibility.
• Identify vulnerabilities (e.g., loss, associate experience, process gaps) and define mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Coordinate risk management measures with local management and external parties (e.g., law enforcement, industry associations).
• Ensure assigned sites comply with Amazon’s global security standards.
• Conduct regular physical security audits and investigate policy violations, security incidents, and loss events.
• Collect and analyze data, monitor systems, and conduct interviews to identify process vulnerabilities and recommend mitigations.
• Maintain site integrity by auditing and monitoring security systems, collaborating with subject matter experts and external suppliers.
• Interact daily with external security service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery and a smooth customer experience.
• Act as a point of contact for internal and external departments (e.g., legal, HR, law enforcement) on security and loss prevention matters.
• Deliver loss prevention education and awareness programs to teams and liaise with stakeholders on policy and procedure across all management levels.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in security services, asset protection, loss prevention, risk management, inventory management, investigations, supply chain, auditing, compliance, or similar fields.
• Professional experience with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Fluent in German (speaking, writing, reading).
• Business-level English skills (verbal and written).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Experience with physical security best practices, including security systems, investigation techniques, and contract security guard management.
• Experience in a distribution center, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with data and analytics.
• Valid driver’s license.
