Loss Control Engineer V

About the Role

Lead construction safety and loss control activities for data center projects in New Albany, OH. Ensure compliance with insurance (OCIP), EHS regulations, and construction safety standards across large-scale projects. Perform site inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety reporting. Partner with contractors, project teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive a zero-incident safety culture. Analyze safety metrics (such as TCIR) to identify trends and improve jobsite performance. Support complex ground-up and mission-critical data center construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction safety and loss control activities for data center projects
• Ensure compliance with insurance (OCIP), EHS regulations, and construction safety standards
• Perform site inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety reporting
• Partner with contractors, project teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive a zero-incident safety culture
• Analyze safety metrics (such as TCIR) to identify trends and improve jobsite performance
• Support complex ground-up and mission-critical data center construction environments

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction safety experience in a dedicated safety role
• Experience working within an Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) environment
• Insurance and claims management, including working with insurance partners
• Construction risk assessments and incident investigations/root cause analysis
• Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) program implementation
• Data analytics using safety metrics (e.g., TCIR and incident trend analysis)
• Experience supporting large construction sites (2,000+ workers) with strong onsite field presence
• Ground-up construction experience
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems related to data center construction
• Experience partnering with contractors and cross-functional teams
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety (or related field)
• CSP or CHST certification
• OSHA 500 certification

Preferred Skills

• Data center construction experience (strongly preferred)
• Experience in airports, oil & gas, or pharmaceutical construction environments
• Experience with major general contractors such as DPR, Turner, or Holder
• Experience working in occupied/live mission-critical facilities
• Experience navigating cross-functional relationships with facility owners and stakeholders
• Ability to travel up to 30% within the state as needed

Compensation

$69 - $89 per hour. Duration: 12 months. Location: New Albany, Ohio.
