About the role
We are seeking a Controls Engineer to play a critical role in the design, development, implementation, and commissioning of control systems that support our enrichment technology development and demonstration program.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement current and future control solutions to advance enrichment technology
- Collaborate with engineering teams to plan and select control systems that automate enrichment process equipment
- Possess and partner with technicians to construct, install, and support safe and efficient control systems
- Lead commissioning and testing of control systems to verify functional and operational requirements
- Integrate individual equipment control systems into the broader plant control system architecture
- Ensure operational and reliability data is properly captured, recorded, and stored
- Develop control strategies based on process flow narratives and system requirements
- Design and implement operator-facing HMIs to support safe and effective operations
- Produce detailed control system documentation to support procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and operations
- Maintain design and test records and ensure compliance with Integrated Safety Analysis (ISA) requirements
Requirements
- Active DOE Q-Clearance or equivalent (DoD Top Secret), or the ability to obtain and maintain one
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience
- Experience programming PLC-based control systems
- Familiarity with control valves, pressure systems, and field instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, and level devices)
- Experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation platforms (FactoryTalk View, Studio 5000, RSLogix 500)
- Working knowledge of industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP, TCP/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, RS-232)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Willingness to work extended hours as needed
Qualifications
- Proficiency in advanced control system design techniques, including cascaded control loops, time-proportioned control, and predictive control algorithms
- Experience with SCADA systems and data historians
- Familiarity with cybersecurity standards such as NIST SP 800-82 or ISA/IEC 62443
- Experience collaborating closely with operators to design and refine high-performance HMIs
- Background working in classified, nuclear, or other highly regulated environments

Pay
Salary range: $75,000 - $100,000 annually
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, with some evening and weekend work as needed
