About the role
The role involves the origination, design, and development of new robotic products, tools, and components, as well as the modification and improvement of existing designs. It can focus on mechanical, electrical, or software aspects.
Responsibilities
- Attend project kickoff meetings and provide input
- Communicate directly with the customer on technical issues
- Manage project schedules and budgets
- Lead engineering teams
- Assist in generating and managing project schedules, managing project budget and leading engineering team
- Travel frequently
- Generate specifications that provide detailed build requirements and Bills of Material (BOM)
- Adhere to project schedule and budget requirements
- Devise own methods, assist with methods used by others, exercise ingenuity, analyze situations, and apply judgment to make decisions
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and full coverage automobile insurance
- Strong understanding of systems, one or more automated processes, and application of those processes (e.g., welding, cutting, case packing, palletizing)
- Experience designing automation including pneumatic and electro-mechanical systems
- Experience designing and specifying robotic end-of-arm tooling, conveyors, pick and place systems, linear motion systems, print and apply labeling systems, safety systems/barriers
- Ability to perform advanced mechanical and/or electrical calculations
- Good organizational skills, ability to solve problems, strong verbal and written communication skills, and computer literate
- Good negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to devise own methods, assist with methods used by others, exercise ingenuity, analyze situations, and apply judgment required to make decisions of an administrative and/or technical nature
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree and four to six years related experience
- Good organizational skills, ability to solve problems, strong verbal and written communication skills, and computer literate
- Good negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to devise own methods, assist with methods used by others, exercise ingenuity, analyze situations, and apply judgment required to make decisions of an administrative and/or technical nature
