Long Term Substitute : Grade 3 SPED Teacher

About the role

The Pembroke Elementary School is seeking a long-term substitute teacher for a Grade 3 Special Education (SPED) position. This role will support students with special needs in an inclusive classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
• Collaborating with other special education teachers and school staff to provide comprehensive support
• Adapting lesson plans and materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students
• Maintaining accurate records and communicating regularly with parents and guardians

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• Current Virginia teaching license or ability to obtain one within a reasonable timeframe
• Experience working with students with special educational needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
